Papers, Please is a unique independent video game where you play as a customs agent at a border checkpoint, using a hand stamp to determine who can enter your country. Your task is to carefully inspect passports and visas, looking for errors or discrepancies that may indicate someone should not be allowed to cross. The goal is to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering while ensuring that legitimate citizens are not turned away. Each day, you are given a set of papers to review, and your objective is to approve as many individuals as possible to earn points. Despite its simple graphics and lack of an elaborate storyline, Papers, Please stands out for its innovative and thought-provoking concept. It challenges players to make moral decisions and think critically about immigration policies in a way that is both engaging and thought-provoking.
